Kindergarten Program
We see kindergarten as a big and exciting milestone for children, just as completing Year 6 or Year 12 is. Our goal is to ensure that all children are prepared and confident to attend school, as well as ensuring families get support as this is a big step for all involved. Our Kindergarten Room delivers the Victorian Government Kindergarten Program, which runs throughout the school year.
Based around the EYLF the program helps to develop every child’s social, emotional, physical, intellectual and language abilities.
This program is delivered daily through a play-based learning environment.

Throughout the year, every child will be given many opportunities and experiences to develop the many skills that will be required now and into the future. Our school readiness program is all about getting them ready for school and to ensure they have the key skills to be successful.
Throughout the year there will be key elements that we believe are important for children to learn moving forward. These include the following:
- Building up their confidence and self-identity
- Making friends and cooperating with others
- Exploring ways to care for and respect the environment
- Making decisions and choices independently
- Strengthening their fine and gross motor skills
- Expressing their thoughts and feelings through music, art, dance and play
- Building positive approaches towards learning
- Developing speech, reading, writing and numeracy skills
In Kindergarten children will flourish with all the unlimited opportunities provided to them, the biggest one being that the children will have the freedom to explore and experiment, with no limitations on their individual learning journey.
Our Programs
Bush Kindy
The development of a Bush Kindy program at Mansfield Early Learning provides an extension on the outdoor activities that we provide such as exploring natural environments. Bush Kindy is beneficial to children and contributes to improving children’s health, wellbeing and development. Bush Kindy will be located in natural environments away from the education and care service and provides valuable opportunities for Kindergarten children to explore the natural environment.
Junior Master Chef program
When you walk into Mansfield EL in the morning to drop off your children the first thing you will notice is the exquisite smell that will be filling the corridors from the kitchen.
Our kitchen has a 5-star culinary chef with years of experience that provides 5-star meals, each and every day.
You can look forward to hearing about all the delicious food that your children will be eating but also learning about through the Junior Masterchef program. The program provides children with a fun and educational space to learn about the joys of cooking and nutritional food.
Little Rangers program
The development of a Little Rangers program provides children with an opportunity to have contact with animals such as snakes, birds, lizards and chickens. As well as exploring other animals on the planet, the animals that are within our service provide an opportunity for children to have hands-on experience in taking responsibility and caring for animals daily. An environment with animals helps with the awareness of the interdependence of creatures, humans and the physical environment, and is beneficial to the social and emotional development of children.
Little Growers program
Garden World is our centre's community garden that the children help to grow and care for and help to plant according to the menu. We educate children in understanding sustainability and nutrition whilst interacting with our veggie gardens and worm farm. This will be a learning opportunity for children to see how some of their food is created as well as being excited to see it go from the garden to their plate.
